Acupuncture & Bodywork

I combine acupuncture, dry needling, electroacupuncture, and manual therapy to create a personalized treatment plan that promotes pain relief, injury recovery, and better movement.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture works by stimulating points on the body, triggering the release of endorphins and serotonin to reduce pain and improve mood. It may also reduce inflammation, improve blood flow, and activate areas of the central nervous system to aid in healing and pain relief.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin, sterile needles directly into muscle knots, also known as trigger points. These tight, hypersensitive areas can develop from overuse, injury, or prolonged muscle tension, leading to pain and restricted movement. By stimulating these trigger points, dry needling helps release muscle tightness, improve blood flow, and reduce inflammation. This process promotes healing, restores normal muscle function, and enhances overall mobility, making it an effective treatment for musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, and chronic tension.

Electro-acupuncture

Electroacupuncture is a modern variation of traditional acupuncture, where small electrical currents are passed through acupuncture needles. This technique enhances the healing effects of acupuncture by stimulating nerves and muscles more deeply. The electrical stimulation encourages blood flow, reduces pain, and accelerates tissue healing, making it especially effective for chronic pain, nerve-related conditions, and muscle injuries. By targeting specific points on the body, electroacupuncture can help promote muscle relaxation, improve circulation, and speed up recovery from injuries or surgeries.

Cupping

Cupping therapy involves using suction to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and support recovery. Different types include fire cupping, which uses heat to create suction for deep tissue release; dry cupping, which utilizes a pump for controlled suction; and sliding cupping, where cups are moved across the skin to enhance fascia release and improve blood flow. Each method is tailored to individual needs for optimal relief and mobility.

Scraping/Graston/Gua Sha

Using specialized tools, scraping techniques like Gua Sha and Graston are employed to break down scar tissue, fascia restrictions, and muscle knots. This helps to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and restore movement, often used for chronic pain and mobility issues.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy includes deep tissue massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy, all of which target muscle tension, joint stiffness, and restricted movement. These hands-on techniques help to enhance flexibility, ease discomfort, and support faster recovery from injuries.
